The assignment was to choose a song with a specific message and experiment with typesetting it in different ways, using 2 fonts. One variant had to be applied to a music magazine cover featuring the artist and themes of this song. An educational speaker would hypothetically join this artist in supporting the themes of this song, which would require a descriptive tour dates poster.

The assignment was to create a newspaper that is meant to exist within a fictional piece of media, and the overall typography is supposed to fit the period and themes of the world the newspaper is set in. We were asked to design the front page, and accordingly had to choose headlines, ads and other relevant data that would be important and enticing enough to ensure people would pick it up from a rack and flip through it.

I chose Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes books, specifically the time period between Sherlock Holmes’ “death” and “return”.
