My Graphic Design Thesis is a culmination of a year of dedicated research into Internet Sociology, combined with very early investigations into the concept of the self. By combining the posts the algorithm selects for my Instagram use across accounts, user data collected by advertisers, and ancient Hindu interpretations of the Self, this thesis aims to study how code-switching across personal, finsta, and professional accounts may cause Instagram to misinterpret the individual as 3 separate entities, and whether this even matters.
